"Economic Policy of Ukraine. Reconstruction during war": Meeting of Government and Business Representatives
On September 16, 2024, a large-scale event "Economic Policy of Ukraine. Reconstruction during war" held in Kyiv, organized by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine. This important event brought together key representatives of the government, business community and international partners to discuss urgent issues of economic recovery of the country in the conditions of war.
Among the participants of the event was the Chairman of the Board - General Director of JSC Elvorti Serhiy Kalapa. He joined in the discussion of current challenges and opportunities for economic development in the current conditions. There were Yulia Svyrydenko - The First vice Prime Minister - Minister of Economy of Ukraine, Theodora Dell - Acting Director of the USAID Mission in Ukraine, Roman Vashchuk - Business Ombudsman and Stefan Kossoff - Director of Development of the British Embassy in Ukraine. As well as representatives of member companies of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine, the management of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine, the Committee on Trade and Industry, international partners and leaders of Ukrainian business also were participants.
The first key aspect of the discussion concerned the sustainability of Ukrainian business. Despite the devastating consequences of the war, many enterprises continue to operate, maintaining jobs and economic stability. Yulia Svyrydenko expressed deep gratitude to businesses for their invincibility and dedication to their work, emphasizing that the state actively supports enterprises, creating conditions for their renewal and development. She emphasized that effective revival of the country requires synergy of efforts of the government, business and international partners.
An important part of the meeting was the discussion of international support, which is an important element for the recovery of the Ukrainian economy. International partners, including representatives of USAID and the British Embassy, emphasized that further cooperation and assistance programs provide Ukrainian businesses with the opportunity to expand and integrate into global markets.
Special attention was paid to the issue of upgrading production capacities. The participants of the event shared their experience of overcoming difficulties and noted the importance of integrating Ukrainian enterprises into international markets. Small and medium-sized businesses also received significant support, because they are the basis of the economy in the regions affected by military action.
"Economic Policy of Ukraine. Reconstruction during the war" was another step towards the economic recovery of the country. The efforts of the state and business should focus on creating long-term recovery strategies, taking into account modern challenges and opportunities for Ukrainian enterprises in the international arena. The unification of efforts that takes place at such events is the key to the further development of the country. Economic recovery of Ukraine requires consistent cooperation between business, government and international partners, which will become the basis for stability and development.
The Chairman of the Board - General Director of JSC Elvorti expressed gratitude for the open dialogue with the government and noted the importance of such meetings for strengthening interaction between business and the state. He noted that close cooperation help solve urgent problems and support the economic recovery of the country in difficult conditions.
The First Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko presented a certificate of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine – to Chairman of the Board - General Director of JSC Elvorti Serhiy Kalapa, for a significant contribution to ensuring the economic stability of the country in the conditions of martial law.
